About the Author
Author A. Eugene ("Gene") Sanchez had retired from his architectural practice of thirty-three years when-in the mid- 1990s-he conceived the idea to compile and publish this comprehensive collection of Gene Kloss's etchings.
Gene Kloss's work was exhibited at Gallery A, in Taos, New Mexico, from the day it opened until it closed, forty-seven years later. She became a close friend of Gene Sanchez's mother, Mary L. Sanchez, who was involved with Gallery A from its inception in 1960, ultimately as its owner. When Mary retired, Gene Sanchez and his wife, Jules, ran the gallery. In January of 2007 they closed Gallery A, intending to travel and complete this compilation.
Gene Sanchez continues to live in Taos with Jules. He is an elected local official and a member of the Board of Directors to the Governor's New Mexico Capitol Art Foundation.
